I took these photographs of the moon late at night on the night on (or before) of the Summer Solstice (June 20, 2016). It took a bit of time to adjust some settings of my camera to able to capture a clear series of photographs of the moon. It was one of those times I had one of those “Ah Ha” moments when I discovered how to do something different and its like bringing two puzzle pieces together.
For the longest time I wanted to take clear photographs of the Moon and I finally did. Now I know how which setting and dials on the camera to change to do this I’m going to try to capture other phases of the Moon.
In the past when I took photos at night there was enough light from street/parking lights that I didn’t need to change it before. I wasn’t able to photograph the moon when it was rising above the horizon.
Here is the moon taken in Tucson, Arizona. Taken on the Summer Solstice and known as the Strawberry Moon.

Below is a tweet that I wrote on Twitter and I wanted to share on this site. Please leave a comment below if you like. I would like to expand on how I take videos and I want to show different viewpoints while filming video’s.
One thing that I want to get soon is a drone and a new iPad to go with and use them on hikes in northern Sierra Nevada mountains & elsewhere
Some sunlight on some trees and tops of shrubs in the Sierra Nevada Mountains.
I have had in the past some and many thoughts about topics to post on this site and when I would sit down to write these ideas – they come across as half-baked thoughts, ideas. I would start writing down these ideas and I would get to a point where I would pause to consider where I could continue on with the thoughts for the post but I wouldn’t past this one point. I would leave these posts as drafts and or I would cut these posts completely.
I would toy with these thoughts for a few days or for some time and majority of the time I would just abandon the post ideas completely. These ideas would be half-baked at best and they would just be a waste of words and space on this blog and in general.
I took this in the late afternoon and very early evening in September 2014.
Though, I’ve wanted to share a fair amount of photographs that I took in 2014 and 2014. For some reason I’m would, having some lack of follow through about uploading photographs that I took. Part of the problem is that I don’t want to go through and update all the meta data that’s included in the Photographs that I took during this time. I know I could and can use Adobe Bridge to do this with a bunch of photographs at one time and I want to wait until I have more computer memory installed before I update and change the meta data on lot of photographs.
You could some of the photographs that I took as featured images or inserted in posts during the last year or so. Getting back on topic – I want to write real posts or short of a length of page while working in a document for a class but I seem to come up short on more positive topics to write about. If I write a good lengthy post that it seems a negative type of post which I’m tired of writing and thinking about doing; or I could be complaining or sound like that I’m complaining in some way.

I’ve looked through some photographs that I’ve taken over the last couple of years looking for a series of photographs that I took with my iPhone or Canon camera while I was staying at Lake Tahoe. I took this series of photos back in the Fall of 2014, apparently, I didn’t back up my phone with these specific photos with my dogs while Lily Lake near Fallen Leaf Lake in the Sierra Nevada’s. They were on my phone that I wrecked in the fall of 2014 and couldn’t and wasn’t able to use the contents of the phone; let alone to erase the phone before I was able to send it in after I got the replacement phone. Another possibility is that I might have deleted these specific photo’s but I doubt that I did that.
I took these photos at the Japanese American Historical Park with some Flowering Cherry Trees and in the background and across the Willamette River in the Convention Center and Moda Center; along with the Steel Bridge. One of the photos is a little part of the east bank of the Willamette River and there is a part of Interstate 5 that runs on the east side of Portland. There is a map below the photographs of where I took these.
Its been a little while since I last posted on this site and looks like that it would be some time before I would post anything of substance. At the moment blogging is not really at or near the top of the list of doing stuff – including posting photos that I took at Lake Tahoe, CA or anywhere else that I took photos at in my road trips of the last couple of years. Plus, I haven’t been to keen on spending the time on editing photos on the back-end of the site – like the alt tags, description, and so on giving the number of photos that I would like to upload on to this site. If there was a way to mass edit this type of info on a number of photos at one time would be great, but I don’t see how it could be done in WordPress.
The photograph below I took a few moments after the photo in the last post. In this photograph that I took with a Samsung phone – I’m looking towards the North – Northeast end of the lake.
Here is sunset taken at Fallen Leaf Lake, CA along route 89. It was a generally overcast day. Looking towards North by Northeast.
One thing that I’ve found that I’ve missed is cooking holiday meals during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday’s. I haven’t cooked a turkey since the fall of 2007. I know I’m out of practice in cooking a Turkey and all the trimmings that go with it.
Today, I’ve noticed that I had become a registered user on WordPress.com ten years today and I can’t believe that much time had passed by. Hope the next 10 years would be interesting times in life and in blogging.
Here are some photographs that I took with my iPad on my way up to Oregon from Arizona. I managed a way to get to school and since I didn’t have my Canon Camera with me to take photographs the “next” best thing to do – is to take a couple of photographs with my iPad.
Granted these aren’t of the best quality of photographs which is kind of expected with a 1 and 1/2 old iPad.
These were between Paso Robles, CA and Salinas, CA except for the body of water in the gallery. Think I took the photograph in Oregon but not sure.
The Amtrak line that took these photos were on the Coast Starlight.
Enjoy – like or leave a comment below the gallery.
