Spring-ish Update

Hello All….

I was planning to have this post be, well, posted back in January or early February, but obviously this didn’t happen. Aside from the New Years Resolution post and a couple others over the last year, I know its been quite for some time on this site between posts. Well, I have moved from the Southwest back to the Northwest of the United states in part is because that the “status quo” in my life had to be changed. Plus people were trying to “keep” in Arizona or I should say that people are/were expecting me on staying in Southern Arizona for the rest of my life.

One thing that I’m going to try to do is to finish school in the Northwest. I’m going to try to buy a house while I’m finishing school. I’ve been looking for a bit of time, but haven’t really found a house that “feel” that “right” house to buy.

Knock on wood that I may or would have a new place by the end of summer. I, generally, know what type of place that I want to buy but finding it is another thing altogether. Though, one thing I would like or need a place that is big enough for a dog and for myself.

Updates Since January:

I took a class this last winter quarter but I didn’t have a good study habits, though my studying habits changed midway through the term. I did register for a class for the spring term but decided to drop it because I wasn’t able to properly have things setup a site properly. The subject of class is / was focused on developing themes for and customizing WordPress. Knock on wood that it would be offered again at some point again but I’m not holding out any hope that it would be offered again in the Fall term.

It didn’t help that I wasn’t in a good mindset to do homework for the last week because I concerted on my now dead dog (see the post here – opens in a new window).

One of my dogs that I had since 2014 had died back on the last weekend of March. Rogue died because of severe case of arthritis which affected his lower back and legs. Now without having a dog around I found myself bored and feeling “listless” as to what to do with my free time.

One thing I miss doing is going out and driving to places with my camera; since I can’t really do that until the stay in place is lifted in Oregon and California. Since I’m basically stuck inside which I’m doing some “spring” cleaning around my place.

The way things would look like is that it would be at least before I could go out for a drive with my camera. The places that I want to go to is Mt. Hood and parts of eastern Oregon.

One thing that I wanted to do but never did before the “stay at home” order here in Oregon was to travel to the beach or to trails around the Portland Metro. Obviously, I’m going to wait til things are more open to about the same levels before things closed down because of the pandemic. What I mean is that I should have and could have traveled around the region in January and February to take Photos – lots of photos. Whether if its on a trail, downtown Portland or around Vancouver, WA. and I didn’t do it where I didn’t want to go out at all for some reason. I know that’s a very lame reason.

There is a little more that I want to say but I’ll do another post at some latter time. I don’t want to jink things for the next six weeks or so.

New Years Resolution(s)

For the last several years I haven’t done any New Year’s Resolutions since I wasn’t in any position to follow through with any resolutions that I thought of. Though, I do have a couple of New Years Resolution that I want to do and to follow through this coming year.

A Quarter Moon taken one evening in March 2017.
  • Start taking classes again – I’ve already registered for two;
  • Blogging more on this site;
  • Take More Photographs in Oregon and Southwest Washington;
  • Travel – Road Trips in Oregon, State of Washington, and Northern California when possible;
  • Look for and buy a house by the time summer arrives this year – if possible of if at all;
  • Possibly remove myself from social media at some point this year (Instagram, Facebook, etc.);
  • Maybe create videos and share on this site by the way of drone – depends on where I can use the drone if I get one;
  • I may start a podcast of some kind but not sure.

There are a couple of other items that I thought of adding to the above list but it is just a matter of time before things could pan out later the year.

I want to do all of the stuff on this list, but I could see myself doing several of those things on the above list. But then I could nothing at all expect for going back to college.

Another update of sorts

Hello All

Its been a little while since I last posted on this site and looks like that it would be some time before I would post anything of substance. At the moment blogging is not really at or near the top of the list of doing stuff – including posting photos that I took at Lake Tahoe, CA or anywhere else that I took photos at in my road trips of the last couple of years. Plus, I haven’t been to keen on spending the time on editing photos on the back-end of the site – like the alt tags, description, and so on giving the number of photos that I would like to upload on to this site. If there was a way to mass edit this type of info on a number of photos at one time would be great, but I don’t see how it could be done in WordPress.

It’s been quiet Lately…

Hello All…

I’ve been offline for a bit now and will continue to be offline for some time … at least for the next month. At least in regards to new posts, gallery pages, and so forth. I’ve stayed near South Lake Tahoe, CA for about a month and during the next month or so I would not be posting that much or if at all.

I may re-blog a post or something from another site that I might find interesting.

Later.

An Unexpected Trip

Well, things have changed for worse over the last few days, to the point where I would myself and my brother would be taking a road trip to Lake Tahoe. Which would be another one year apart from our last trip there.

The circumstances of this road trip which changed our plans of going sooner. We will be there for about a month or two, before we head to Utah for a bit of time. There is one good thing about going sooner is that I’m able to take more photographs all around Lake Tahoe. Along with other points of interest in the region. Well, possible points of interests in the region.

Though, it doesn’t help that I have three weeks left of university classes for the summer term.

Anyways, I would be spending some more time at Lake Tahoe for a bit longer than last year – which is a good thing. Assuming I would be able to get the car fixed as soon as possible.

This post was prompted by a daily prompt called Road Tripping. (I know this post is a few days later than I wanted to post on the web.)

Then, most likely we will be coming back to the northwest to do a few things before heading to Utah for a bit.

In the above are three routes that I might take to reach South Lake Tahoe, California. For some reason I’ve like to take road trips to Lake Tahoe during the summer months. Though, time does fly when I’m at Lake Tahoe which is a pain of the backside to no end when I was growing up in California.

a traveling post

Intro

This post is about traveling (obviously). From Alaska through Canada to Oregon and other places I would like visit ….. soon.

Now on with the post….

Well just about a year …. since I moved from Alaska to Oregon. Started on Oct 15 2010 towards Canada and on Oct 16 2010 entered Canada. By this time last year it snowed in Alaska and in Yukon Territories (plus other parts of Canada too at this time last year). When we – my brother and I entered into Yukon Territories lost an hour of the day because the time  difference between Alaska Time and Pacific time (which includes British Columbia and Yukon Territories) – anyways – side from the darkness of the long nights it was a very good road trip. There were a lot of scenery that I wanted to take pictures of – obviously I didn’t take any cause I didn’t have a good dslr camera with me.

Even though I could have stayed in Alaska and I’m thinking that I’m reconsidering the move and heading backup – haven’t decided yet. I’m going to see how things go at a University here in Oregon first – then I would go from there. Also it would depend on (still) trying to find  some kind of job here in Oregon.

Anyway, at some point I’m going to take a longer road trip into Canada where the trip wouldn’t be rushed like the road trip that I took last year (October 2010). This time I would have a good dslr camera with me along with an extra lens or two and couple additional memory cards. Obviously I would need to plan things out well ahead of time. I have a general idea where I want to go and visit to.

Though I would be taking a road trip here in the U.S. at some point to – beyond Northwest Oregon and Southwest Washington State. I’m still figuring out where I want to visit to. I thought of going to the Southwest U.S. beyond that I don’t know where I’d go on a road trip to.

Though the places I like to visit are Maryland, Virginia, Washington D.C. and Pennsylvania. Going to these places are some ways off. Theses are  four place’s I was going to travel with my mother – obviously that’s not going to happen now. That’s another post for another time and place.

Aside from these places I want to visit to – I would like to visit Chicago, New York City, New Orléans, the Kansas for some reason. Maybe a few other places in the Midwest, along with  places in western Europe, New Zealand, and Australia.

Another place that I wanted visit with my mother is to New Zealand. For some reason I can’t remember she wanted to go there  though in part because it’s a scenic place to visit.

latter….

P.S. I’m going to post picture’s when I will take them as I go on a trip to places that I’ve mentioned above.  The pictures that I took last October won’t be posted cause I don’t have that many and what I do have been taken on my blackberry and which won’t be posted cause of the quality.

Where to travel

Its been a while since I did a post on this blog, and this post would be about traveling to places I would like to go to. There are several places that I would like to travel to which include the United Kingdom, Australia, Toronto, Edmonton, Maryland, Virginia, Amsterdam, NYC. Also, places that I’ve been to Las Vegas, San Francisco, and possibly a few other places that I’ve been to.

The problem that I’m having is that I can’t seem to settle on which place to visit first. I would like to visit all the places above in one big huge trip but would be too much to do at one time.

I would like to visit Sydney, AU and London, UK on New Years Eve and Day. Though I could one city one year and the other the next year. It’s just a matter of chosing which of these places to go to first.

Though I have little time to settle on a where I want to go on a trip.
